Also, saw the new Star Wars Episode 3 trailer the other day... don't think i've ever wanted to see a movie so badly now... fine, i know how some people feel about the last 2 movies and admittedly they were a little cheesy... but with the new darker storyline and darth vader and chewbacca this is looking promsing - this movie might be the biggest dissapointment ever, but it also might not :> If you're interested in hi-res star wars goodness CLick Here (30MB)
Lastly, I just got news today i passed my data warehousing subject i did in summerschool... yay me! muaahaa...

| | Bad Company | ] | woah, long day... well after i managed to wake wookieewoman we left around 9:30am, and managed to get ourselves seated in time for the 2nd half of the qualifying... and then random v8 supercar racing and some stunts etc... i decided to go get some food for wookieewoman and myself just in time to miss the driver's parade lap!!!! :( then after sulking for the next few minutes i finally managed to get myself in the mood for the 2 hours of bliss that followed! :) If you've never been to an F1 grand prix before, NOTHING can prepare you for how fucking LOUD those cars are...awesomely, fanstastically loud! Schumacher being knocked out by Heidfeld wasn't exactly a highlight though but at least Rubens drove an awesome race to finish 2nd from p11. then as soon as the race finished they let the crowd run onto the track and head towards the podium... DAMN, people are animals... it was like a stampede of wild boar... completed insanity ensued... some guy actually trampled on my hand while i was trying to climb over the fence!! OUCH.... bastard. but got to the podium in time for the italian national anthem and champagne spraying... AWESOME!!!
FORZA!!!!

1. Went to church... 2. Visited the set of Ghost Rider (new Nic Cage movie being filmed in Melb.). 3. Went to the Grand Prix roadshow where I got to change a tyre on an actual F2004 Ferrari F1 car!!!!!... my time was less than stellar though... around 7.5 seconds... pro time is supposedly under 4.5 secs.. haaha, the pit guy reckons i shouldn't expect a call from schumacher anytime soon but said it was a good first efforst.. fuuucckkkk!!! :>>>> haaaha, i don't think wookieewoman quite understood why i almost wet my legs over changing a tyre but unsinnig, you understand why i got more than a tad excited right?..... right? |

| | David Bowie - Bang Bang | ] | what a good start to the day (for a change!)... dragged myself out of bed at 10am (late night), when whilst still in my halfasleep haze/daze i hear a loud knocking on the door. "AUSTRALIA POST". i was like what the fuck... turns out to be package from my family back in SA with cd full of photo's and also some new tshirts.. !! as if this wasn't good enough, literally 2 minutes later, the phone buzzer things uh, buzzes and i answer, "HELLO?"... then i hear again, "AUSTRALIA POST!", so i run downstairs (actually i took the elevator, but close enough), and its a different guy asking me to sign for a different package (now they get you to sign with PDA instead of normal pen.. very spiffy indeed). and lo and behold, my shipment from malaysia arrive - a brand new and much needed ps2 game collection...muaahaaa :>> so here they are: ( new gamez ) |

| | Metallica - Frantic | ] | | Do not use the toilet brush for your teeth... |
January 07 2005 at 07:21AM |
Detroit, Michigan - The sign on the toilet brush says it best: "Do not use for personal hygiene." That admonition was the winner of an anti-lawsuit group's contest for the wackiest consumer warning label of the year.
The sponsor, Michigan Lawsuit Abuse Watch, says the goal is "to reveal how lawsuits, and concern about lawsuits, have created a need for common-sense warnings on products".
The $500 first prize went to the man who submitted the toilet-brush label. The $250 second prize winner submitted a label on a children's scooter that said: "This product moves when used."
A $100 third prize went to a woman who sent in a warning from a digital thermometer that said: "Once used rectally, the thermometer should not be used orally." Sapa-AP |

Operator, give me the number for nine-one-one! It's like David and Goliath, only this time David won! Hey, just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand! Marge, it takes two to lie. One to lie and one to listen. Marge, I'm going to miss you so much. And it's not just the sex. It's also the food preparation. In this house, we obey the laws of thermodynamics! You don't win friends with salad. You can't keep blaming yourself. Just blame yourself once, and move on. Trying is the first step towards failure. They have the Internet on computers now? Okay, brain. You don't like me, and I don't like you, but let's get through this thing and then I can continue killing you with beer. Kids, you tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is, never try. Bart, with $10,000, we'd be millionaires! We could buy all kinds of useful things like...love! Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true! Do I know what rhetorical means? |

| | Metallica - All Within My Hands | ] | just read a few reviews of shakespeare's Merchant of Venice... the new one with al pacino... most people either thought it was a masterpiece or the worst film of the year... and those that hated it ALL focused on the ANTI-SEMITISM... that really gets to me... I wish the Jews in Hollywood could get over themselves already... just because they made a faithful rendition of 'merchant with an outstanding cast they attack they entire film for being rubbish just because they didn't adapt it enough to ensure all Jews around the world would be happy with it. How ridiculous.... exactly the same thing happened with the Passion of the Christ... now I've seen the Passion and the movie simply tells the story of Jesus' death faithful to the scriptures and yet the Jews all throw a fit because its anti-semetic - anti-semetic HOW?!? because the Jewish mob calls for Jesus to be crucified?? Jesus was Jewish!!! His desciples were Jewsish!!!! So how does that makes sense...Why can't you ever have Jew as a bad guy.... so stupid. Oh....haha, and then there's the the way Michael Jackson had his song 'They Don't Care About Us' banned in the US (as well as the music video banned) simply because it contained the line "Jew me, Sue Me" and "kick me, kike me" so he very nicely manages to offend the very people he was attempting to stand in soladarity with... geez, there's just no pleasing some people...EVER.
ps: HAPPY 2005 from Melbourne!!! |

| | Smashing Pumpkins - Beautiful | ] | it amazes me sometimes how the world can be so selective when it comes to giving attention to disasters, both natural and man-made... as sad as the current situation in south-east asia and east africa is... there are so many other tragedies that the media does not focus on anymore because its old news... I don't know if anyone else has seen CNN's documentary 'Surviving Hunger' where a journalist pledges to live in a remote Ethiopian village for 30days to experience life as they do. Mentally and physically he couldn't cope... i think he lasted 26 days, just a few days short and he lost an emormous amount of weight. The family that he stayed with gets enough food aid from the government (1 bag of maize) to last them a few days of of the month. The rest of the time they survive by cooking what they call "wild cabbage". This so-called wild cabbage is esesntially your typical weed with almost no nutrition at all. And it makes them sick but they have to eat it. They also look forward to going to church on sundays because they get to eat some bread during 'holy communion'. On very special occasions they slaughter a goat and then they eat well but these occasions are very rare. And what really got to me was as hard working as these people are with all the suffering they go through, their spirit seemed almost unbreakable. I could not believe how their humility was unwavering during the entire filming process. Can you believe they spoke to one Ethiopian man who had never heard of or seen rice before??!!
I honestly think we've become so desensitised by the media that people think nothing of watching the news where they're reporting 100 000+ deaths in south east asia and the reporter looks all serious, and then they jump straight to a story about Britney Spears or Delta Goodrem with a smile on their faces.
And before i get too carried away, there's a movie coming out about the 1994 Rwandan genocide, in which the world stood by and let over a million Rwandans get massacred. If the Americans sent a military force to Rwanda one tenth of the size they sent to Iraq, hundreds of thousands of lives could have been saved. Anyway, more more info and the CNN review of the movie here |

| | relaxed | ] | lately been spending so much money on food its scary... what a waste of money... but a man's gotta eat right... so decided i really gotta start cutting some serious corners else i'm gonna end up with a serious problem... hahh, so yesterday i got the $7 large pizza special at uni and not only was it the greasiest kakkest pizza creation i've ever experienced i also found a someone's hair stuck in amongst the cheese. not nice.
and last week i finally decided to splurge on a really decent ($30) steak, which was the start of my food binge.. ironically at a south african restaurant, dorah you remember squires loft. looked kinda more upmarket than the south african version but definitely overpriced - the steak was top class but i've had better - namely best steak of my life award goes to the Butcher Shoppe in Sandton Square, or hmm.. its Nelson Mandela square now isn't it? amandla. !X
and now my week long session of marking gcse maths papers is done (finally) and they want me back in Jan so gotta find some work in the meantime - shit, gotta raise some serious cash my mid-next year. and man, british schoolkids have it easy... the gcse maths papers are a joke... nothing compared to my year 11 papers... more like from what I remember in Ms.Baumgartners (remember her unsinnig?) maths class back in year 8/9.
wookieewoman and i planning a little getaway just before xmas... probably gonna go to grampians or mt. buller - should be good... lots and hiking, mountain biking and kangaroos. orginally was gonna to go to sydney as wookieewoman wanted to see lion king musical but decided rather to spend a couple days chilling in the country... get away from citylife for a few days will do anyone good i think. And we're going to see 'Live' this weekend... i've already seen them once before in joburg but i guess its something to do. ok, thats it for now, take care of your wild selves.... vrr, !X. |

onto something positive... for those of you that don't know i'm a rather large star wars fan - episode 1 was kinda crap tho, and jarjar must die. HOWEVER, today saw the release of the Episode 3 trailer for Revenge of the Sith... and its all good! yes, i know its only a trailer but this trailer HAS to be seen..even if you're slightly interested!!!!

The outcome hinges on the result in Ohio, where Bush is leading, but the result is still too close to call."
surprise, surprise... bush is almost definitely gonna be leader of the "free" world again... i just hope the world manages to survive the next 4 years with a chimpanzee controlling most of the world's economy... id like to quote claypot here who said "You must know that the American elections affects the whole world. So to the idiot who said otherwise, all I can say is that you perpetuate the stereotype of Americans who think that America *is* the whole world. " haha, well said.
